Manchester United have been looking at some new goalkeeping options this summer amid a poor display from Andre Onana and No 2 Altai Bay Indeal, but chose Belgian young shotstopper Sen Lammens
New Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Ranmens may have finished at Aston Villa this summer, but the Belgian star reportedly agreed to a higher price than the Red Devils.
Runmen was United’s only deadline purchase as Reuben Amorim ultimately strengthened his exciting goalkeeping options at Royal Antwerp.
His arrival comes as a major boost for the team after both Andre Onana and the two Altai Bayindeals were found guilty of a high-profile mistake this season, and fantasizing the possibility that Ranmen could become his new first choice.
United will pay Ranmen about £18.2 million to Antwerp, adding another £3.5 million. However, according to the Daily Mail, the Belgian side actually accepted a higher offer from the villa at some point in the window.
Runmen might have been an alternative to Emiliano Martinez if he joined United, but Amorim chose a young man with all his heart for Old Trafford. Like Brian Mbeumo, the club still showed that they still have a great pull, as they did in interest from Tottenham this summer.

Benjamin Sesco also moved to United after sniffing forward from Newcastle. United ultimately agreed to a low rate of £74 million.
After talking to Antwerp’s teammates who played in England after sealing off their move to Old Trafford, Runmen explained that he was attracted to the club’s “aura.”
“On my team at Antwerp, there were some players who were also in the UK. When I talked about Manchester United, I could see their faces change directly,” he said. “Only the club, the club’s aura, it’s huge, and you’re here today, seeing it, it’s on another level.
“You can feel the positive vibe that’s being created here, and you know that you can make a real impact with the club over the next few years.
“I can’t wait to get to know my teammates and start working with Reuben (Amorim) and the coaching staff. This is the perfect place to grow with this exciting team and achieve career goals.”
Soccer Director Jason Wilcox welcomed the players’ abilities and praised him for sniffing the progress of his rival clubs, saying he could become the top goalkeeper.
He added: “Sennes is a great young goalkeeper with great potential. I’m pleased that after a lot of interest from many clubs, I have chosen to join Manchester United.”
Runmens will bring United’s total summer spending to approximately £217 million. The club approved £71 million for Mbeumo and £62.5 million for Matheus Cunha, while defender Diego Leon also arrived for around £7 million.
