Mohamed Salah is playing alongside an all-new star in Arne Slot’s new-looking Liverpool attack.
Liverpool star Mohamed Sarah has admitted that he has not yet accessed the same page as Hugo Ekichike. Sarah is playing with Ekitique and Florian Wiltz in a new look Reds offense, with Alexander Isaac also planning to join the team after an international break.
Liverpool blew around £450 million to new players in the summer transfer window, the most expensive additions of ISAK, Wirtz and Ekitike. They robbed Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, who left the window, and Diogo Jota, who had died tragically in a car accident.
Things started well, with three consecutive Premier League wins at Bournemouth, Newcastle and Arsenal, with Ekitique scoring in the first two Premier League games. But the overall performance is something that is desired, with a slow goal in the first two games and a stunning free kick from Dominique Sobosrai against the gunners.
Sarah faced Cherry and supported Ling Moha’s late winner at St. James Park, but has yet to find his feet. Speaking to the man on the Blazers podcast, he explained that it takes time to click with Ekitike and co.

“So far, I haven’t understood the connection yet,” Sarah said. “Like Darwin or Lucho, or the person they were playing in front of, or Diogo. I knew where to start with Diogo or Darwin. I know where to find them. I knew their game very well, but he’s still new.
“Sometimes you need the ball on the field, sometimes you need the space (it) and try to understand that, like in a training session or a video. The manager shows us.
Similarly, Salah, a £125 million ISAK, a £116 million Wirtz and a £69 million Ekitike, is playing with 17-year-old starlet Ngumoha. He shows calm on the sidelines on Sarah’s pass, sealing off a 3-2 victory over Newcastle and has an excellent leader in the form of an Egyptian superstar.
“So the future awaits him will depend on how he deals with the situation,” Sarah said of Nugumoha. “How do we work? I have to work hard and just stay humble because he’s so young. I told him that if some players are too early, they’ll struggle afterwards.
“I wish him the best. He has a good group (around him). We always try to talk to him. The manager (Arne slot) also talks to him.
