Jadon Sancho sealed off the deadline move from Manchester United and rented out the club for the third time after the arrival of Borussia Dortmund of £73 million.
Aston Villa lender Jadon Sancho revealed he had spoken with Marcus Rashford before deciding on his deadline day move. Sancho joined the villa on an in-season contract with Manchester United after Rashford spent the second half of last season at Villa Park.
Rashford’s move comes after revealing his desire for new challenges away from Old Trafford. He ultimately never made a permanent entry into the villa, but now moved to Barcelona on a seasonal loan with a £26 million option.
Sancho was linked to Serie A’s move early in the window after Chelsea, where he spent last season. However, Juventus and Rome ended up looking elsewhere, and Wingers had fewer options.
The former Borussia Dortmund star is now talking about Rashford’s role in his final decision. “I told him while he was here last season and I know he really enjoyed it,” Sancho said.
“He said something really nice about the club, like that’s family and you feel the great players and staff and their friendly environment.

Sancho was one of four players leaving United on the transfer deadline. Harry Amas and Rasmus Hozilund also left the loan and joined Sheffield on Wednesday and Napoli respectively, with Antony making a permanent move on the real Betis.
United also signed Senne Ranmen’s on the last day of the window, but the villa was busy. Former United centre back Victor Lindelof joined as a free agent, and Harvey Elliott rented out the loan with the obligation to buy it next summer.
“To me, it’s about kicking as a player,” Elliott told club media after joining the UNAI Emery team. “The only way to do that is to play the game, and there’s no good place to do it, especially with the manager, his philosophy, his way of playing, his trust in the younger players.
“Not only that, but his personal accomplishments were also very drawn to it. I had conversations with him and was blown away by the way he was headed towards me and how welcome he was before I became an Aston Villa player.
“When you come to Villa Park, it’s really hard to play against them, how passionate the fans are, how well the team is drilled, and if you had the opportunity to participate in it, I couldn’t say no.
