Liverpool missed Crystal Palace captain Mark Guech’s £35 million signature after Eagles head coach Oliver Glasner won the transfer battle against CEO Steve Parish
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner won the transfer match against CEO Steve Parish as Mark Guech’s £35 million move to Liverpool was cancelled in the 11th hour, and the captain threatened to quit if it was sold.
England International was receiving medical care in London after the palace agreed to a fee for sending it to Liverpool and Merseyside. The Premier League champion, alongside Alexander Isaac, was hoping to announce him this summer as part of a double contract on a deadline day that exceeds £450 million.
But everything has been agreed between all parties, and even the trading sheet that will be handed over to the Premier League shortly before the 7pm deadline on Monday, will be given until 9pm to be fully ratified – the palace chief parish pulled the plug by his head coach.

The Palace has dealt with the massive challenges of Glasner, who led the club to a successful FA Cup, and Glasner, who led the club to major European competition for the first time in history, but is opposed to selling the captain from the start. Austrian values are guehi as a player and dressing room leader, speaking about his sharpness as a holding of England centre-back.
Over the summer, Glasner has spoken at his steady lengths against sales. Even after the rates were agreed on Sunday, he played Guehi, a 3-0 victory at Aston Villa – there Guehi scored a great goal – and repeated what he said three days ago before talking about the importance of keeping him.

On Monday afternoon, Glasner spoke with Guehi, a model expert throughout, and outlined his desire to keep him up for the season. Guehi wanted to leave, but once again he insisted not to kick the fuss.
All combined that gave the palace chief a challenge to deal with – it was exacerbated by Bayer Leberkusen’s decision to plunder Eric Hag after just two league matches. That led to the fear that he could return to the Bundesliga and be on a Glasner card.
He has done an incredible job at Entracht Frankfurt, won the Europa League, and the Leverkusen boss is under great pressure to appoint a statement that will ease his supporters after making loud noises about the arrival of former Manchester United manager Ten Hag. Austrians fit the bill in that respect, and the opportunity to join the Champions League club is too good to refuse, especially if they are not backed by Guehi.
Encouraged, he threatens to go out to the club if Guehe sold out from under him.
And when the time came, the palace chief retreated the transfer and showed how highly he was – he chose the £35 million squeal that the Eagles believed would be needed badly.
