Viktor Gyoker stands by his and Alexander Isaac’s tactics to ensure a summer relocation. The Arsenal striker took a strike in the sport before securing the Emirates switch, but declared that Isaac would not play for Newcastle when he called for Liverpool’s move. Gyoker sealed his deal before the campaign began after refusing to take part in pre-season training, but Isak was forced to wait until the deadline to complete his Anfield Switch.
The 25-year-old Sweden international avoided the magpie tour and was trained separately from the first team when the new season began. The duo was not an isolated case as Brentford striker Joanne Wissa spent summer training separate from his teammates before successfully completing Newcastle’s move. This kind of action has caused player power issues to enter the spotlight.
Gyoker dealt with the issues during his international mission and prepared equipment for Slovenia and Kosovo. The Arsenal forward was reunited with Isaac after the latter to camp was delayed after his loan transfer.
“I haven’t talked much with him because he came. I greeted him and congratulated him, not more,” Gyoker said when asked about Isak. “Yeah, I said about my situation before, it might be the same,” he said of the dynamics between the players and their club.
“You don’t know what’s going on (scene). In his case, it’s difficult to talk about it because you don’t know what happened.
“We all play and the clubs have the most power. In many cases it’s difficult for players to choose.
“When it’s a player that’s not wanted at that club, I think it’s totally against it, he has no power, the club can literally do what they want with the players. It’s difficult, but that’s the situation.”
Despite his intense conclusions about Newcastle’s career, Isaac delivered a heartfelt farewell message to the club.
Writing on Instagram, Isak declared:
“Together, we wrote history and brought the club to where we really belong. It was an honor to be part of our journey to win our first trophy in over 70 years since reaching the Champions League. Thank you forever. Thank you, Newcastle.”
