Bruno Fernandez has been the subject of Saudi Arabia’s interest this summer, and the Manchester United captain has made a decision about his long-term future

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandez is reportedly open to leave the club next summer after turning down a very favorable offer from Saudi Arabia. Fernandez was heavily linked to his move to Al-Hilal earlier this summer, but ultimately decided to reject their offer.

Al-Hilal considered a £100 million bid and was willing to pay Fernandez £700,000 a week – and he could have made around £200 million over the three-year contract period. However, he has since been linked to another Saudi Arabian move to the professional league side, with Al Ittihad reportedly speaking with a representative from Fernandez.

However, the Daily Mail reports that Fernandez wants to stay at another United year in order to “avoid the chaos” ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The report says he will consider leaving after the tournament.

Fernandez is claimed to be open to joining clubs in Saudi Arabia, the US or another major Europa League. And United may decide to win cash, having just split £130 million with Brian Mbemo and Matthew Cunha to play in Fernandez’s favourite No. 10 role.

Explaining his decision to defeat Al Giral, Fernandez told Sky Sports earlier this month: “I haven’t made my dreams come true here yet. I think I can still give something to the club. I think I’m still in a position where I’m helping.

“Obviously, since Cristiano (Ronaldo) was still there, it was a lot of money the club probably didn’t have, so he knows it was tough to decide that they were the last ones to get a lot of money for the players.

“I know it was tough for the club to make decisions, but on the other hand, I am the club captain, so I am important to them.

“But if things don’t go well, that’s a very good thing. If they sell me and get more players and more.

“The dream of coming to the Premier League and playing. For me, it’s the largest league in the world and I want to make my dream of staying here and winning more with the club. Obviously, I know people have different opinions.

“It was a very ambitious proposal. The President was a great person. We never discussed the amount (at the beginning). Of course, I spoke to my wife and family.

“She’s always been a very supportive person for me. It was an easy move, even on a family level. There was Joan Cancello. My kids are used to playing with him on the national team.
