Reuben Amorim sat in Grimsby’s dugout and refused to see a penalty shootout as Manchester United side was dumped from the Carabao Cup by a League 2 outfit.

He said: “In the end, the penalty is not important. After the game, if you win or lose, your emotions (about 90 minutes) should be the same. Let’s focus on the next game. And we have a lot of debt with our fans. Let’s focus on the game.
The United boss also said, “I know that the best teams have won today, because when you’re a team, you can win any game. Today was really fair.”
Mbeumo made United’s first goal 2-1. That was the team’s first goal this season, with three games in the campaign. They were held by Arsenal and needed their own goal of finding the net during the deadlock at Fulham on Sunday.
The loss at Grimsby was the second time in 30 years that he was thrown out of the Carabao Cup in the second round, or otherwise from the League Cup. Louis Van Girl was defeated by MK Don in 2014 and was humiliated when he saw Sir Alex Ferguson being beaten by York City in the mid-1990s.
