Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is the man on fire after losing the Carabao Cup to the town of Grimsby in League 2 after the Red Devils’ humiliating Carabao Cup defeat on Wednesday night
If Reuben Amorim prepares to pack it up as Manchester United boss, his actions early on Thursday morning suggested that this would not be the case. On the horrifying evening morning the day before, Amorim returned to the club’s Carrington training base desk.
The Portuguese are only getting hours of sleep after United shocked Grimsby at Brandelpark. The Red Devils crashed with a penalty from the Carabao Cup, a horrifying display that fell 2-0 back to 2-2, only losing on a spot kick.
After the humiliation, the team returned to Carrington just after 1am. The players and coaching staff, including Amorim, picked up the car and headed home, but the United boss returned to work a few hours later. He arrived at the training complex just after 7am on Thursday. The full team reported on training at 11am. There is a shortage between them and there will be two days to prepare to face Burnley in the Premier League.

Players who played against Grimsby are undergoing recovery work today while preparing for Burnley, but players who started on the bench or were not included in the team have completed their training sessions. Luke Shaw and Lenny Yolo will be resting for a trip to Grimsby and will return on Saturday.
When asked what was wrong after Grimsby, Amorim said: “Everything. How we started the game, we weren’t here. When everything is very important at our club, everything is a problem with our club, we should be better. Sorry to the fans.
“I felt like today that they were really loud and loud about what the players wanted. I think that’s easy for you (how to interpret it). Let’s focus on the next game. Then we’ll think about things.
