“He almost appears to be in a state of shock. He is a very disappointed man and I don’t think he fully understands what’s going on in that match. There is evidence of pure frustration, anger and disappointment.
“He dipped his head over most of the post-match interviews. It’s also a sign of shame. We see the rage of how his eyes came together, pulled down and the grooved lines on his forehead.
“When he says his team is getting better and improving, he feels it suggests that his player threw it against Grimsby. He feels he claims that his plan is being hampered, even if it means that his team is throwing him under the bus.”
Stanton believes that Amorim will “do his darndest to try to resolve the situation,” but he warns that he “will not allow himself to be thrown continuously under the bus.”
He added:
“I tried my best. You’re not ready to play the ball. You’re not ready to play my way and work with me and my ideas. He has nowhere else to go, but from what we’ve seen about Reuben so far, I think he’s trying to solve the situation and do his dern to get to the bottom of what’s going on with United.
“But I don’t think he’s the guy who sucks it forever. He has his professional integrity too. Every football manager has ego. I don’t think he’ll allow himself to hurt his career and his.
“If he walks, he doesn’t look good, so he tries to make the most of his abilities, but he won’t allow him to be constantly thrown under the bus.
