Manchester United have spent around £200 million on new signatures this summer, with the Red Devils trying to further strengthen their team before the transfer window closes
Manchester United are squeezing the slow movements of the two players after a humiliating exit from the Carabao Cup. United were knocked out of the tournament with a penalty by League 2 side Grimsby. Grimsby rose 2-0 in the first half thanks to strikes from Charles Burnham and Tyrell Warren, but late goals from Brian Mbemo and Harry Maguire sent the tie into the penalty – just to get the 12-11 victory Grimsby.
The humiliating defeat means United are still looking for their first victory of the season, increasing pressure on manager Reuben Amorim. United have strengthened their team this summer, kicking out more than £200 million and introducing Benjamin Sesco, Mbeumo and Cunya. However, the Red Devils are still considering adding new signatures, with midfielders at the top of their list and chilling interest in Carlos Valleva in Brighton, where they demand more than £100 million for their 21-year-old.
Currently, the late window movement of two potential alternatives is heavy. Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton and sports captain Morten Fjulmand are both at the club chief intersection, as first reported by Athletic.

United will return to activity on Saturday, hosting Burnley at Old Trafford, when they are hoping for a significant improvement in performance from his side.
“In the end it doesn’t matter if you recover or not,” Amorim said after losing to Grimsby. “I know the best team, the only team on the pitch, won. The best team, loses because players can win against any group of players. I think we spoke really loudly today. The best team won.
“I think it’s really clear what they’ve talked about. Let’s move on from today. I think it was really clear what happened today.” When asked what hadn’t worked, Amorim replied. “I don’t know. How to start a game without space, not just strength, the idea of pressure.
“We were completely lost. They spoke really loudly. I think (same issue) is the problem. When you lose and see something new, it’s not. Sorry to the fans.
“The support they gave us in all the defeats, I have to say I’m really sorry. I think they (the players) responded on the pitch today, so I don’t need to talk about it.
“We’re playing games on the weekends and then we have two weeks to sort things out.”
