Liverpool has submitted an opening bid for Crystal Palace Captain Marc Guech, worth £35 million, and is pleased with a 10% sell-on clause. The Reds’ offer is a flat prepaid fee for England defenders without add-ons. The contract at Selhurst Park expires in 12 months, so the palace is open to skipper sales, but it responded with a £35 million counter offer and a 10% sale clause with a £5 million counter offer with £35 million and add-ons.
BBC Sport confirmed the Eagles’ response after claiming the palace was delaying its response to Liverpool’s offer as it wanted to secure a 25-year-old replacement.
