Erik Ten Hag ‘Faceing Bayer Leverkusen Sack’ as ex-man utd bosses last just 3 games | Soccer|Sports

Germany reports that Eric Ten Hag is about to be fired by Bayer Leverkusen after just two league matches. The former Manchester United manager was turned down by Bundesliga Giantsto, who replaced Xabi Alonso ahead of the new campaign. He endured a tough start to his life in Germany, and the 2024 champions have yet to win the league game.

Ten Hag began his reign in victory over the fourth tier Minnows Sonnenhof Grossaspach in the first round of DFB-Pokal. He then oversaw a narrow defeat to Hoffenheim. Hoffenheim came from behind to take on a 2-1 victory following Jarrell Kuanza’s early opening match. Leverkusen continued to give up a two-goal lead against Werder Bremen on Saturday, eventually settling in a 3-3 draw.

It is now reported that Kicker is at risk of being fired just three months after Ten Hag is appointed manager. The situation is described as “very important,” and the Dutch are believed to be facing a large-scale internal scrutiny.

Once the summer transfer period is closed, the club’s chief is said to have solid decisions about Ten Hag’s future. It suggests he could be fired as early as Monday evening, and Leverkusen has yet to inform their final verdict.

It prompted them to take responsibility for the poor start of the season after being torn apart by his players following a draw with 55-year-old Wolfsberg.

He said: “The players are not ready. There are new teams and some of the players are not well suited to play. The teams didn’t work at all at the end of the game, and that’s exactly what it is.

“They need to bring more strength and get fitters to meet my standards. After an international break, we have to face real competition and perform as a team.

“It starts with taking responsibility and delivering individual performances, and they have to show me what they want to work with.

“First, you have to have players. There have been some major changes. A lot has changed in the leadership and hierarchy of the team. Now, new players need to step up. Today it didn’t work.”

Leverkusen captain Robert Andrich made some awful comments in a post-match interview, complaining about the team’s lack of spirit and lack of cohesion.

“This has nothing to do with anxiety or player changes,” he said. “But rather, with the team on the pitch. We have too many people who are obsessed with other things.

“We have too many people who are only interested in ourselves. Everyone is playing with themselves. Everyone has run around the pitch on their own.”
