After Zabi Simons completes his move to Tottenham, Liverpool could return to action on the last day of the window. The former PSG man joined the North Londoners of RB Leipzig on a deal worth around £51 million. He has signed a long-term contract and will wear a No. 7 shirt at his new club.
Simons was originally a target for Chelsea, but Tottenham quickly made a landing ahead of his 22-year-old city rival. The move represents a major coup for Thomas Frank. Thomas Frank hopes that the Dutch will have an immediate impact. Given that Leipzig needs to sign an alternative, it could also affect the end of Liverpool’s window.
According to The Times, they are interested in Harvey Elliott and are “in direct contact” with Reds to discuss the deal. Elliott was used sparingly by Arne Slot last season, which means he is linked to the Anfield exit throughout the window.

Former England striker Jermaine Defoe recently urged Elliott to join a club where he can become a main man, not a Bitpart player for Liverpool.
“There are a lot of clubs watching this tournament,” Defoe said after Elliott won a under-21 brace against the Netherlands this summer in the Euro.
“We said before, he’s too good not to play when you play against the best players in such a big tournament. The two goals we saw tonight are he’s the top top player.
“For him, he needs to go out and play, get on a team where he is one of his main players, go out and express himself and show how good you are.”
