Alex Oclade Chamberlain spent six years at Liverpool before leaving the club in the summer of 2023, but he was told he would leave just a few days before the news was released.
Alex Oklade Chamberlen, a former Liverpool midfielder who was recently let go of Turkish costumed Besiktas, has previously been opened for a sudden, unexpected exit from Anfield. The 32-year-old didn’t appear in any of Besikutas’s opening six fixtures this season, resulting in a report suggesting his contract would be cancelled in July.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, 30, enjoyed a six-year stint at Merseyside following a £35 million switch from Arsenal in 2017.
However, after months of radio silence during the 2022/23 season – his final year on contract – the club discovered his fate just three days before he made public knowledge, liverpool.com reports.

Speaking to the Athletic, the former Arenaal and Southampton players reflected Liverpool’s exit. “It was never said,” he said.
“I obviously took the photo. Before they made the statement they were told, ‘As you know, we’re putting this out about you, (James Milner) Millie, Bobby and Naby (Keita) are leaving.”
Despite his time, where the Reds are hampered by fitness issues, he still recorded 146 appearances and claimed both the Premier League and Champions League titles.
Nonetheless, Oxlade-Chamberlain dismissed the notion that he had argued with former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, but admits that he was aware that he would not receive a fresh contract from Reds.
He continued: “I want to be the best person for everyone around me, and I want to be a good person to have young people, staff, things like that. You just have to expect certain things to be said.
“(He and Klopp) had a good relationship. There were no dropouts or anything like that. As a manager, I understand that navigating all the players’ needs is not easy, but when I was playing, I enjoyed him a lot more than I was when I wasn’t even on the bench!
Despite being informed in just a few days of spare time, Oclade Chamberlen was sent off by Anfield’s turf in the final home game of the 2022/2023 campaign, alongside Milner, Farmino and Keita.
A Liverpool statement at the time stated, “We hope that Roberto, Nevy, James, Alex and their families are the best in their future. All four players will leave with gratitude and gratitude for the contribution they have made.”
His exit from Türkiye turned out to be far less ritual. Besiktas said: “The contract with professional footballer Alexander Mark David-Oxlade-Chamberlain has been terminated by mutual consent. According to the contract, the player will be paid 1,750,000 euros (£2.04m/£1.51m) termination compensation.”
England International was featured in 50 matches in Turkish costumes, but found himself on the sidelines by former boss Giovanni van Bronkhorst. He returned to the competition last season following the arrival of then-manager Ole Gunnar Solskal.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has since been promoted for the switch to Birmingham City, and Leeds United and Leicester City were reportedly enthusiastic too.
