Antony broke the silence after suggesting a switch from Manchester United to the real Betis. La Liga’s outfit issued a statement Friday, pulling out of the deal despite Red Devils’ agreement on terms.
A £21.6 million fee has been settled for a Brazilian winger who enjoyed a loan spell at Betis last season. The club had secured 50% of Betis’ profits on future sales at the 25-year-old, while the 25-year-old had secured 50% of profits on profits on Betis, but an additional £2.6 million was made with add-ons. However, the complications persisted.
Antony has been left in his Old Trafford deal for two years, ordering a substantial wage packet that he refuses to sacrifice.
Neither Betis nor United are ready to close the financial gap, and Antony is understood to be reluctant to confiscate his potential income.
Betis issued a statement released late Friday. “There was no agreement and we retracted the offer of transfer because Real Betis cannot afford transfer fees and the amount Manchester United has to pay (instead) the player (instead) before transfer.”
The United boss suspects that the Seville Club’s position is merely a negotiating ploy.
As for Antony, he appears to be out of the situation.
Visiting Instagram, Winger shared a story featuring photos of himself with his peers in what looks like a restaurant.
Antony included a message of reflection in his post.
“Life has always been a huge surprise for us in our family and friends,” he wrote. Antony joined the Spanish side on loan during the winter transfer period, illuminating his spell with the club.
Brazil International seemed to have built strong connections with the club in support of the UEFA Conference League Finals facet that was beaten by Chelsea.
He returned to Manchester this summer as part of the club’s so-called “bomb squad.” Antony was expelled from the preparations of the first team, along with Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia.
Rashford then joined Barcelona on loan, with a £40 million fee agreed with Garnacho’s Chelsea. It appears Antony is set to join the other two players in uncertainty in the remaining days of the transfer window.
