Trent Alexander Arnold was benched by Real Madrid and stopped by Thomas Tuschel from the English Squad.
Trent Alexander Arnold probably didn’t expect a week like this when he decided to trade Liverpool for Real Madrid at the end of last season.
Alexander Arnold portrayed his decision to move to Spain as motivated by ambition. At 26, he felt it was right to broaden his wings, broaden his horizons and win more trophies.
Although it was early on, last week’s events show just how difficult such a transition can be. He was dropped to Real Madrid in favor of veteran Dani Carbahal, pulled away to Liverpool in the Champions League, and now removed from the English squad by Thomas Tuschel.
Even when he was still in Liverpool, Alexander Arnold was a divisive footballer, and his unique talent made him stand out as a right-back. He has never held back regular locations on the national side, earning just 34 caps in seven years.

However, his gambling, exchanging clubs from his childhood for real, only raised his perception from the outside. It’s not yet known what reception he will be given when he returns to Anfield, but at best it will be mixed.
His focus now is to convince Xabi Alonso that he can hold back the starting right back position at Real. Carvajal recovered from an ACL injury and regained his position on his side for the second La Liga game of the season. And his legendary position at the club is not easy to drive him away.
The 33-year-old made 430 appearances for the Real, helping them win the trophy gluttonous foodie. He’s a solid touch-tuck-like right-back, in contrast to Alexander Arnold’s looting and pass-spray approach.
Alonso has already warned Alexander Arnold that he must be patient as spinning is the purpose of the game. “It depends on what you need when it comes to games, workloads and opposition,” he said after reclaiming Carvajal for a 3-0 victory at Real Oviedo.
“I haven’t made any decisions for next month. I’ll see how we recover and make sure people are important and ready to start, get off the bench and get into the next game.”
Like other experts, Alexander Arnold is not used to competition for locations, but he never really had a viable rival in Liverpool. He was a homemade top dog under Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot, and commanded the biggest game location. Carvajal is a completely different story.
“I double cover many positions,” Alonso said early in the summer. “This has two exceptional players. Karba is training hard and is getting much closer to Liverpool’s original level. That’s amazing to improve the level of the team. We play a lot of games and need that top level.”
Tuchel is not forever separated from Alexander-Arnold. He wants to give him time to settle in Spain, but the elimination of him and Kyle Walker shows a change in rankings in favor of DJed Spence and Tino Livramento.
Alexander Arnold has no choice but to bow his head, work hard and reestablish his reputation both in the club and international football.
