Liverpool remains keen to sign Mark Guech before the summer transfer window closes on Monday night, but Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is desperate to keep the captain

Crystal Palace Manager Oliver Grasner begged the Club Hierarchy to reject the offer from Liverpool to Marcguech before the transfer window closed.

Currently, there are only four days left before the summer transfer window closes for business, and Glassner is desperate to protect his captain. Liverpool began consultations earlier this month to sign centre-backs, but so far they hated seeing the palace’s £40 million valuation.

Miller Football understands that as the Reds enter the final year of their contract, they are confident that the Reds will hit the deal at a lower price, and Palace President Steve Parish can’t afford to lose him next summer.

Guehi begins when Palace painted 0-0 with Norwegian side Fredrikstad to compete in the Conference League phase on Thursday night, and Glasner contradicts Parish’s statement due to concerns that he would sign a potential replacement late in the window.

“From my side, it’s Friday now and the windows will be closed on Monday, he has to (stay),” Glasner said at a press conference. “He has to do that because at this point I don’t think I can find a replacement for Mark Guech who can play straight (away) in the Premier League.

“After seeing the foundation of success over the last few months, the foundation that advances into the group stage (of the conference league) has been defensive. We had two clean sheets against Fredrikstad. We played five games with three clean sheets.

“Mark is an important part. He is the captain, British international and has the most Premier League experience on the back (line).

Asked about Guehi’s focus, Glasner said, “I think he shows it in every game. He’s focused. If Mark said, ‘I want to leave Crystal Palace,’ the contract would have already happened a few weeks ago due to his situation.

“And no one blames that. When a player is left on a contract and gives a signal of ‘I definitely want to leave’, a deal happens at every club. So Mark is totally committed to the team. ”

The palace was looking for potential alternatives with the potential for Manuel Akanji in Manchester City and Mohamed Salis in Monaco. They also link to Jeremy Jasetto of Rennes and Jadee Canbot of Toulouse, but Glasner is clearly not sure.

Nonetheless, he could be rejected. After last week’s 1-0 victory over Fredrikstad, Parrish told Channel 5:
