Chelsea are without Cole Palmer for the London Derby against Fulham on Saturday due to a gro caliber injury that prevented him from featured in last week’s West Ham 5-1 victory.
Cole Palmer will not feature Chelsea’s feature in the London Derby against Fulham this weekend, as a result of a gro caliber injury that lost a 5-1 victory at West Ham last week.
Palmer, 23, left the field just before the end of the blues’ warm-up at London Stadium, with Enzo Maresca later pulling a no-10 from his lineup. After the match, Palmer was confirmed to have a gro caliber injury, and he was omitted from Thomas Touchel’s latest England team on Friday.
The development has fueled speculation that Palmer this weekend is not available for selection. Maresca confirmed at a press conference before the match. “The call comes out, Benoit (Badisahir) goes out, Romeo (lava) goes out, and the rest is fine,” the Italian said.
“Cole, we need to see every day. Romeo and Benoit, I don’t think they’ll come back after an international break, but they’ll be closer.”

Palmer was one of several big names omitted from Tuchel’s English team. This wasn’t surprising after breaking out of a trip to West Ham at the last minute of last week. However, Maresca’s comments show that the issue may not be as harsh as it was initially feared.
“I’ve spoken with Thomas several times, it’s Thomas’ decision, and he’s not available tomorrow,” Maresca said of the decision to kick Palmer out of the team for supplies for next month’s World Cup qualifying.
Willian Estevao was drafted by the team after Palmer’s injury against West Ham, catching eye with the Blues’ comprehensive victory and earning an assist in the process. Chelsea also stepped up their attack this summer with signatures from Liam Dellup and Joa Pedro.
When asked if Maresca is certain that Chelsea will deal with it without a talisman, he said, “When Cole is not in the game, we need to find a different solution. We can do the same tomorrow.”
