Chelsea cancelled a deal that they should have seen Nicholas Jackson lend to Bayern Munich, despite the striker flying to Germany for medical care. The Senegalese centre forward was scheduled to join the German champions on loans during the season, where the Bayerns had the option to make it permanent for 12 months. But after signing the summer of injury that signed Liam Dellup in his victory at Fulham today, the deal was torpedoed.
The athletic told Bayern that Chelsea would not move forward, and that 24-year-old Jackson had revoked his permission to receive medical care in Munich. He was asked to return to London soon. Enzo Maresca said after a 2-0 victory at Fulham, Delap could take action for up to eight weeks due to a hamstring injury.
Jackson landed at Munich airport just after 4pm on Saturday, but he plans to complete medical care and sign papers to ensure his transition to the Bundesliga club, but he plans to report to the current club.
His move to Bayern was as the Premier League Giants were netted for the first £13 million. If Vincent Kompany’s side wanted to sign Jackson forever, they had the £56 million option to do so.
The striker joined Chelsea from Villarreal for £32 million in 2023, scoring 24 goals in 65 Premier League appearances. He signed an extension last September and was signed at Stamford Bridge until 2033.
Maresca told TNT Sports after the match: He then added at a post-game press conference: “Liam’s injuries don’t look very good, he’s at full speed, and it’s a hamstring.
