Woltemade reportedly said goodbye in Stuttgart before flying to England on Thursday to complete the proceedings. As one marquee transaction is set to close, it may be on the horizon where another marquee was said to be eager to attack Barcelona.
They are interested in bringing Fermin Lopez into the team, but according to El Chingate Rock, they will face tough competition from Tottenham.
Newcastle is believed to be preparing a big offer for the young forward, with the club chief reportedly willing to pay more than £86 million. They will also be happy to sluggish his existing pay and sweeten the deal.
Earlier this week, it was reported by Cope that Lopez is making around £99,000 a week in Barcelona. That means Newcastle is willing to pay him an incredible salary of £396,000 a week.
Chelsea is also linked to the 22-year-old move, a product from La Macia Academy. Earlier this year, he suggested he was totally happy with Barcelona and had no interest in leaving the Catalan giants.
Speaking to the RAC1 radio station, Lopez said: “I’m not going to leave. I’m very happy with Barca. That was my dream.
The winger, who can also play as an offensive midfielder, will remain tied up in Barcelona until 2029. Last season he scored six goals and five more assists in 29 league appearances.
Barcelona manager Hansifrique is a huge fan of Lopez and said earlier this month, “Last season was spectacular for (he) and we have a lot of quality in that position.
“I’m very happy. I wasn’t very happy in the preseason (with Lopez), but he’s improved over the past two weeks. He showed how good he is to Como.”
