Kobbie Mainoo was looking from the bench as Furham’s substitute Emile Smith-Rowe became equal after Rodrigo Muniz’s unfortunate unique goal gave Manchester United the lead
Reuben Amorim warned Coby Meinu that if he wanted to start with Manchester United, he would need to drive away club captain Bruno Fernandez. The 20-year-old watched Fernandez blow up a first-half penalty against the crossbar.
Mainoo was Gun-Shy as well as Amorim’s attacker. However, reluctant to be upset from his favorite 3-4-3 formation, Amorim claims that United Academy alumni are competing with Fernandez at the starting XI location.
Amorim said: “Mainoo is fighting for his position with Bruno. I changed two midfielders. I wanted to score a goal so I left Mason Mount.
“So he needs to fight for his position with Bruno. He is fighting for his position in training with Bruno.” Amorim deployed Fernandez and Casemiro as two holding midfielders, then replaced the latter with Manuel Ugarte.
Summer signatures Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha were unfolding before them, and Mount was the third forward in his front three.

Seeing Cunha hit the post and being saved one-on-one by Fulham Keeper Bernd Leno, United struggled to create a chance, except for the bright opening.
Not related to the dullness before the goal, Amorim added:
Meanwhile, Fulham’s manager Marco Silva had no ban on United’s goal, despite the appearance that Renee Yolo was pushing Calvin Bassey behind him. As his header bounced off Muniz on his way to the net, Yoro seemed to thrust Bassey from behind.
Silva was particularly unfortunate as the penalty missed by Fernandez was awarded after Chris Kabanag consulted Val and decided that Bassy had pulled the mount down.
Cabana gave Luke Shaw a spot kick, despite the fact that he also appears to have pulled Muniz down for a moment after Bassy’s challenge on Mount. Silva ironically states:
“I won’t say anything more, I don’t have the confidence to explain things that are impossible to explain.
“When I saw the penalty, I think they did incredibly well. Rodrigo’s foul was half a second of a push from Calvin.
