Trent Alexander Arnold is ready for a quick reunion with Liverpool after the Reds faced Real Madrid in the Champions League stage, showing they returned to Anfield after their summer move to the Bernabeu. Six Premier League teams will raise the English flag in European elite competitions. Reigning champions Liverpool will be joined by Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle.
Tottenham will complete the lineup following their Europa League victory. Defending champion Paris Saint-Germain will be appearing in the mix in a 36-team tournament expanded alongside Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and other European powers, beating Inter Milan 5-0 in last year’s final.
During the league stage, each team plays four games at home, eight games four apart, with results consolidated into one 36 team table. The top 8 will go directly to the final 16, with those finishing between the 9th and 24th entering the playoff round.
