Bruno Fernandez refused to make a favorable move to Al Giral earlier this summer and continued playing at the highest level, but Manchester United reportedly was approached by Al Ittihad to test the solution

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandez is reportedly being chased by Saudi Arabian professional league side Al Ittihad, and a meeting between the two camps has already been held.

Fernandez was chased by Saudi Arabian club Al Giral earlier this summer, and it seemed likely that the Portuguese playmaker would join them until he made a huge U-turn and chose to stay at Old Trafford.

According to the Sun, the summer transfer window has closed and Al Ittihad only has about a week before he is trying his luck for the 30-year-old in his final gasp attempt.

The meeting between Al-Itthiad and Fernandes is said to be “positive,” the report says, with the Middle Eastern attire being “very enthusiastic” to secure his signature.

During the debate, Fernandez is said to have asked Al Ittihad for an eye-opening contract worth around £33 million a year.

The reported Sum Al-Hilal provided that Fernandes is about £66 million a year. This worked at 1.3ma per week, bringing the total package to about £200 million for the entire contract.

Fernandez is considered the centre of United’s rebuilding project, but the club will need to balance the book after spending £72 million with Benjamin Sesco, £71 million with Brian Mbeumo and about £62 million with Matthews Kunha. The young left-back Diegoleon also arrived for £7 million.

So far, United has not confirmed confirmations from permanent transfers. They rented Marcus Rashford to Barcelona. Barcelona pays the entire salary at Now Camp, but Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Johnny Evans all remained on the free relocation.

But United might be tempted to clean up players from wage bills that earned a report of £300,000 a week with the club.

Fernandez himself said earlier this summer that he could leave the club if they wanted to get cash, but otherwise he would remain until he was told.

“I’ve always been honest,” he said. “I always said I was here until I said it was time for the club to go, I want to do more, I can take the club to great days.

Fernandez also emphasized his desire to continue playing at the highest level, saying, “I want to compete in major competition. I still know what I can and want to be happy by doing what I love the most.

“For better or worse, this is how I watch football, I’m passionate about football, and this is the decision I made.”
