Arsenal’s £64 million striker Victor Gjoker drew a gap in his Premier League debut at Manchester United, who didn’t manage shots at Target last Sunday

Mikel Arteta told his Arsenal player that he has a “big responsibility” to make the most of Viktor Gyoker. The Arsenal £64 million striker drew a blank last Sunday when he didn’t manage his shots on target in his Premier League debut at Manchester United.

It also lies on Gyoker, who trains for two weeks in the preseason. Because his prolonged move from Sports Lisbon meant he missed most of Arsenal’s training and season preparations.

Swedish Star Gyoker was prolific in the sport, but it still has to be at risk as it is a big step into the Premier League. However, Arteta says he has been pleased with his new striker up until now, and that has also become a teammate of the Gyokeres to ensure they are connected to his strengths and play.

Gunners boss Arteta said:

“So the team and I have a huge responsibility to help him and understand that he is more efficient, and the first game is really a tough game and we take it from there.

“But we had to manage a lot of training sessions in it, so I’ve been watching in a really short period of time.” With Kai Havertz injured at least a few weeks, it is expected that Gyoker will hit the ground running against Leeds.

Arteta claims he is pleased with the strong centre-forward performance at Old Trafford on Sunday, as he fought but has almost returned from United’s defender.

He was replaced early without making his mark, and Arteta says it is always possible. Arteta added:

“The game was physically very tough and I think it was really, really open for a variety of reasons, and we decided he did enough.

“But he’s ready to go again. He’s very, very enthusiastic. He trained really well this week. Again, he’s been looking at a really good place for another week.”

The early plan was for Arsenal to fuse Gyoker into the team and Havertz to share his duties, but the German striker is now facing a bystander spell.

Arsenal is unclear how long Hubbard has been out and whether he will need surgery due to knee problems. They hope it will settle down with rest and treatment, but worryingly Arteta couldn’t give him a time frame.

Arteta added: “Unfortunately, he was injured, but I don’t really know the scope yet. I think it needs a little more time and more testing, and then it becomes more clear about the next step.

“I don’t like to talk about the details, but he’s not appropriate. Like I said, we need to explore that issue a little more and then decide what we’re trying to do.

“The bad scenario is that he won’t be able to play tomorrow. I want to make him fresh and available and bring what he brings to the team. Unfortunately, that’s not possible.”
