Arsenal’s 5-0 victory over Leeds on Saturday was exacerbated by injuries to Martin Odegard and Bukayo Saka, but Mikel Arteta received positive news about them and another gunner star
Arsenal received better news on the injury as Gabriel Jesus strengthened his recovery from a serious knee injury that lasted earlier this year.
The 28-year-old Jesus was forced to undergo ACL surgery after hurting himself in a third round defeat of Arsenal’s FA Cup by Manchester United in January. The attackers have been on the sidelines ever since, with gunners introducing reinforcements in the final third of the summer ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Noni Maduke, Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze all came together to give Arsenal more firepower to win their first Premier League title in over 20 years.
And they will be joined by Jesus at some point in the future. Jesus shared a video of his back training in Grass in a social media post on Sunday night. He writes: “I’ve had seven months of pain, uncertainty and anxiety. Today I finally feel the light – like a child playing football again. God is wonderful.”

Jesus scored seven goals in 27 appearances before the injury ended his campaign prematurely, and his return to Glass earned a positive weekend for Mikel Arteta.
The outcome was slightly worsened with injuries to Martin Odegard and Bukayo Saka. Arteta appears to be more afraid of the worst than Saka, and after the match he said, “It looks like something important for Bukayo to come out.”
However, the Times reported on Sunday that both players were injured less severe than the initial fear. This means that Odegard and Saka could return to the pitch earlier than expected.
Either Odegard or Saka will be able to make an appearance at Arsenal the following weekend, and travel to Anfield to take Premier League champions Liverpool.
It will open the door for Eze to debut his gunner earlier than planned with the English star that can be operated from the left or center, and Madueke is also an option to start at the right-handed location if the Arsenal amulet is not available next Sunday.
