Manchester United’s attempt to bring in a new goalkeeper could encourage Andre Onana to look for a route from Old Trafford.
Gary Neville has questioned the goalkeeping situation for Manchester United, suggesting that Andre Onana’s confidence could shake up as long as he may ask to sell before the transfer deadline next week.
The United Chiefs have completed a £17 million move for Royal Antwerp’s Senne Run Mens. Onana will replace his Sunday match against Fulham as Altai Bay Indeal remains between the posts despite a display that is unconvincing about his opening weekend defeat to Arsenal.
In the first half of the window, the Old Trafford Club was linked to Emim Martinez from Aston Villa and Gianluigi Donnaruma from PSG.
Neville revealed that he spoke with people within the club ahead of the clash with United’s cottage. People within the club believe that new goalkeepers remain a priority and that Onana is exploring the movement.

“This morning I asked about it and I spoke to a few people at United,” Neville said. “The sense is that the new boys coming in will probably be No2 starting on the bench, but they definitely need No1.
“United’s main priorities are still goals, and (Matheus) Cunya, (Bryan) Mbeumo and (Benjamin) Sesco are going to do that. I think Onana will start today, but that’s not true.
“Bay Indeal came last week, but he makes a lot of mistakes. His confidence has to be shot as he knows United are scouting Europe for his new goalkeeper and his replacement.
The former United fullback also warned that the club should act promptly before the September 1 transfer deadline.
“They have to deal with that. And the central midfielder slot next to Bruno (Fernandez) are two things that we need to sort it out this week.”
Despite his concerns, Neville still believes onana, the best option available to Reuben Amorim.
Asked who chose for Fulham before it was confirmed that Bay Indil would remain, Neville said, “I’ll go with Onana, he’s the most reliable thing from an unreliable goalkeeper.
“I think Bay Indeal is younger. Onana is a better goalkeeper for me, but he’s made a mistake and isn’t ideal either. But I think he has a greater personality and personality than Bay Indeal.
