Former QPR star Andy Sington is recovering from the hospital after suffering a heart attack Friday, his former club announced.
Thington played for many Premier League clubs in his career, including Wednesdays for Tottenham and Sheffield, but most fans remember him in his four-year spell at QPR.
The 59-year-old suffered a heart attack Friday, QPR said, but added that he is now on his path to recovery with posts on their social media channels.
In a statement, Hoops said: “On Friday evening, our club ambassador, Andy Sington, suffered a heart attack and I’m happy to say he’s recovering from the hospital right now.
Tottenham also sent out their well wishes, as he wrote on Twitter. “Give it up quickly, Andy. I will send you the best wishes of all your Spurs family.”

It came in the wake of QPR’s fierce 7-1 defeat to Coventry, as fans said the news had put the outcome in sight and wanted him to recover quickly.
In a Twitter post, one fan wrote:
Another said: “I’ll put it all in perspective. I was furious about the outcome yesterday, but I’m reading this about my first @QPR idol yesterday.
Sington also won 12 caps for England in his career between 1991 and 1993 and was featured under Graham Taylor at the 1992 European Championships in Sweden.
He joined Brentford after starting his career at Cambridge and eventually QPR in 1989. He played 83 times for the Spurs in late 1999, won the League Cup in 1999, then moved to Wolves in the Football League before finishing his career with managers in Burton, Bromsgrove and Fleettown in 2005.
He managed the fleet for five years before serving AFC Telford for three years between 2010 and 2013.
Recently, he worked as an ambassador for QPR and also appeared as a commentator for an in-house media channel.
