Arsenal eventually sealed Ebeki Eze’s £67.5 million signature this weekend after seeing a race with rival Tottenham, with the player himself revealing that his family is praying for the transfer

Eberechi Eze revealed how his mother’s prayers were answered by his £67.5 million move to Arsenal. Eze, 27, gave a heartwarming story about how his mother dreamed of this moment when she was released by the 13-year-old Arsenal after five years at the club’s academy.

Eze grew up as an Arsenal fan and admitted that he felt “on trial” in each of the four times he played for the Emirates for Crystal Palace, as he was eager to sign his childhood hero.

England’s Star Eze said: “I remember the day I was released, my mother said the prayer that the opposite would happen. For me, this is the realization of the prayer we prayed for. This is deeper than anyone can understand.

“I thought of coming back from the moment I understood other clubs or realised that I would become a pro. “Where is Arsenal, that’s what I want to achieve, what I want to go.”

“To be honest, I’ve been on trial for four years. Every time I came to Arsenal, I saw the seats I sat when I was in the game with my brother.

“I’m not saying I knew it was going to happen, but it’s emotion. As a player, I have a level of belief in myself. I’ve developed this, how I’ve played it.

Eze snuggled Tottenham to sign Arsenal last week and enjoyed being given to the crowd with the Emirates as the club beat Leeds 5-0 on Saturday.

It really stepped up that when we were able to see the Spurs eager to sign off on the offensive midfielder from the palace following the summer pursuit by Arsenal and sports director Andrea Berta.

Eze said he was effective at “judicial” at Arsenal every time he played against them in the Emirates.

Eze, who wears the NO10 shirt, revealed a call with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.

Speaking to Arsenal legend Ian Wright on the club’s website, Eze said: “I went out at Emirates Stadium before, but not as an Arsenal player.

“It’s a privilege and honor because I know the name of wearing this shirt before me. I think this opportunity is like a blessing, so I’ll give you everything you need to pay off this kind of respect so that you can be here.

“I can see his (Arteta’s) energy. I can see the level of passion he has. That’s all I need.

The English star told Ian Wright that it was a “privilege” to join his childhood club.

“There was talk about positions, but as long as I’m on the pitch and I’m given the opportunity to play and express myself in that environment, it doesn’t matter where I’m playing. Of course, he has the ideas he wants, but for me I’m free.

“I just want to win, I want to win anything there. I feel like I’m enjoying it now and contributing to give me what I can do to help me win the team.

“I’ve seen what that means. I’ve seen what you can do, not just your teammates and staff, but when you win, when you bring that type of joy to the place, you can see what you can do for people. So that’s what I’m trying to do.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal also hopes that Bukayosaka and Martin Odegard will not face long spells on the bystanders after they limp against Leeds.

Saka suffered a hamstring injury and Odegard suffered a shoulder injury, but the early check is hopeful that he won’t go out for a long time, but it remains to be seen if he will be able to match up against Liverpool next weekend. Odegaard withdrew from the club event on Monday for Emirates supporters.
