Manchester United are still waiting for their first win of the Premier League season after one loss and draw and club legend Wayne Rooney believes Reuben Amorim could be under great pressure if things don’t change
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has argued that Reuben Amorim “has no excuses” this season, and admitted that the team’s poor start to the season is “worried.”
United painted a 1-1 away at Fulham to await their first victory after starting the season with a 1-0 loss at Arsenal home.
The club spent nearly £200 million on new signatures this summer. Three famous forwards have arrived at Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, but the team is still far from firing on all cylinders under Amorim.
There was concern over Fulham after Fulham missed a penalty in the first half after United didn’t take control of the game.
Rooney is worried about his previous club and believes Amorim is under pressure to pick up the results “quickly” after a bad start, believing he will not be able to get the same generosity he has as he did last season.

“There’s no excuse for managers this season right now,” he told Wayne Rooney’s show. “He has to get results and start getting them quickly.
“If you start to enter October or November and the outcome doesn’t change dramatically, that’s when pressure comes in. They need to hit the ground they run this season, and six to one point is a bit worrying.”
When asked if Amorim could be supported as United’s long-term manager, Rooney replied: “It’s hard to sit here and say ‘Yeah 100%’.
“I don’t think Reuben would probably say himself in what he saw from when he was at the club. I think he was good recruiting in the summer. But I still want to meet two or three more players.
Rooney said one of his biggest concerns was that older habits from last season are beginning to appear in the campaign, saying, “I want to look a little more and see the players understand their role a little better, as (Amorim) brought players.
The former England striker played 559 times for United and scored 253 goals, winning five Premier League titles, four domestic trophies and two European Cups.
United have some big games to show that they can push under the Amorim, starting with a trip to Grimsby in the Carabao Cup.
They then welcome Burnley to Old Trafford before playing against Manchester City and Chelsea next week, and will welcome a folding clash the following week.
