Fury was in Cartmell to see two thoroughbreds he raced part-owner. The former heavyweight champion was interviewed by Racing TV and recently said he prefers horse racing to soccer.

Tyson Fury talked about how he gave up watching football and prefers a day in the race instead.

The former heavyweight boxing champion enjoyed an afternoon at Cartmell on Monday’s Bank Holiday.

Fury began his day by seeing the Big Gypsy King Finish, which will be fifth in the boys’ hurdle on the 2M1F.

Beforehand, he joined manager Spencer Brown to talk about the pair’s interest in sports. This has been intensified recently by adding a few more thoroughbreds to their stable ones.

The rage of wearing sunglasses and hats at 25°C temperatures told race television viewers he no longer supports Manchester United and the UK. The Red Devils are 16th in the Premier League after a slow start to the season.

“I’m not a really soccer advocate,” he said. “We used to support United, but they are in S*** so now they are not supporters of the football team.

“I was supporting England too, but when we lost to Iceland in 2016 in the Euro, I played football perfectly.

Fury added that he has not seen Morecambe FC play on the National League side, the club closest to where he lives. Miller yesterday reported that the two-time world champion had sold a six-bedroom home overlooking the bay for £700,000.

The facility, which features a “panoramic coastal view,” was purchased in 2015 by Fury and his wife Paris for £480,000.

Fury’s trip to Cartmell came a few weeks after he saw the Big Gypsy King running at Doncaster at Doncaster for his previous handler Oliver Call.

The filly is currently with James Moffatt. James Moffatt trains several new employees he finds in sales.

Brown told Racing TV: “We’ve gathered five horses. We have a variety of flat horses and three good jump horses. She (Big Gypsy King) ran in the apartment at Doncaster with a 0-60 handicap two weeks ago, so we thought we’d run to her. She’s been jumping for three weeks.”

One recent addition to Moffatt’s stable, the 14,000 pound Buy Sea The Clouds, also worked with Cartmel.

Last team winner, this time three-time champion jump jockey Brian Hughes mount has been pulled up on several fences to jump to the Wicks Group’s Cavendish Cup Handicap Chase.

Current title holder Sean Bowen has returned to the front with his favorite Oliver’s Travel, 9-4, a horse trained by his older brother Mickey.

The race is delayed and in the X update, “There is a delay at race 4, 4:05 PM on Card @CartMelrace due to a horse injured on the track.”

Course management later issued a statement saying that the horse had contacted the audience during the incident and the two had been taken to the hospital.
