Arsenal claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Manchester United during the opening weekend of the Premier League season, but the hosts manager and captain weren’t happy
Reuben Amorim argues that the Arsenal winner should have been allowed on a foul by error-prone keeper Altai Baendur. Manchester United keeper Bay Rundol was involved in the penalty box contest, and his weak punch allowed Riccardo Calfioli to win a very important winner.
United boss Amorim said: “We want a goal, but when we touch the goalkeeper like that, I think it’s difficult, especially to lose at a goal like this, which was a strange goal.
“When you touch a goalkeeper, he has to use his hands to catch the ball rather than pushing the player. He chooses to push the player and let the ball pass. But that’s again the rule.
Amorim then assisted the error-prone keeper – starting with Andre Onana being left completely behind from the team – TV expert Roy Keene calls Baindill “weak and soft.” Amorim said: “I’m watching training, I’m watching the game. Tom Heaton and Altai Bayindeal did a great job. Andre is going to fight other people.”
United’s Bruno Fernandez added: “Altai said he would touch the moment he kept pushing the ball, but I know that in the Premier League we don’t give much in this type of situation.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta praised the players for their fierce battle victory.
Arteta said: “We got a great result that comes out in the first game of the season against Old Trafford. I think we did two things very well. One is to take the set pieces and react to mistakes.
“But the way every player responds to it gives the game a chance to win. If not, that’s not possible. It’s about how we compete and how much we want to take it.
“Viktor did something very good, but he went to Manchester United and won his first game at Arsenal. That’s a good start.”
