Arsenal remains keen to add a new winger to the team ahead of the transfer deadline next month, but has rejected a deal involving defender William Saliba
Arsenal reportedly rejected the offer of a sensational swap deal from Real Madrid involving William Saliba and Rodrigo. The gunners have been linked to the Brazilian’s movements over the summer, and Mikel Arteta hopes to add a new winger to his team ahead of the deadline next month.
Madrid then sought to capitalize on that interest by proposing William Saliba’s stunning swap deal. The French are one of the main targets of the Spanish club to strengthen their defense.
They wanted to sign him for free in 2027 or with a shortened fee the following summer, when he only had one year left in his contract in North London. However, via sports, according to Marca, the Los Blancos tried to speed up their movements.
The Spanish giants proposed a swap deal involving Rodrigo and Saliba – the offer was quickly rejected by the gunners. It is suggested that the defender remains happy in London and has not considered any moves at this point.
Asked about his future last season, he said, “I’m not a fan of my life.”

“I want to win a big thing at Arsenal. If you leave without winning this club, the fans will forget you. I want to win a big thing here.”
Asked if there were discussions about a new contract with Arsenal, he said, “Not yet. Yes, I’m not in a hurry to that moment because I’ve been (going) for years. I’m happy here.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta recently said he hasn’t allowed himself to be wrapped up in too much transfer speculation now that the season has begun. Advances Sunday’s victory over Manchester United, he said: “I’ll leave it to Andrea and the club.

Elsewhere, Arsenal’s rejection uncertainty about Rodrigo’s future at Real Madrid. He fell out of favor under new boss Xabi Alonso.
Arsenal’s Premier League rival Manchester City is also linked to Rodrigo, but Pep Guardiola wants to move his players before he can welcome any more new faces to Etihad Stadium. The Brazilian winger has signed a contract with Real until 2028.
