The Premier League season is now well and truly ongoing, with typical fashionman United and Liverpool icons Gary Neville and Jamie Carrager issued their predictions

Gary Neville and Jamie Carrager have announced their thoughts on the 2025-26 Premier League season. The new campaign was launched over the weekend, with title holder Liverpool getting off to a perfect start.

Candidates Arsenal and Manchester City also scored three points on the first day. However, Chelsea ran into Crystal Palace despite massive summer spending.

And these results appear to have changed the minds of both Carragher and Neville, who have released predictions about what will happen in the next 10 months. Giving his verdict, the Man United icon predicted Arsenal would win the league, but only.

He states: “We couldn’t separate Arsenal, Manchester City or Liverpool. I think they’re definitely taking part in the equal opportunity to win that. Arsenal has been consistent over the past three years and they were second.

“Liverpool, two fullbacks have to settle down. They look a little open. They’re exhilarating to see. They score a lot of goals.

“The city has an incredible spine. I went to the team I’ve been to for the past three years. They’re reliable and solid, consistent, and that’s important.

However, Carragher disagreed and chose Liverpool to make the back-to-back title. “I didn’t think I saw what I saw on Community Shield, on Friday night. I’m sure the manager was talking to players in the Milan Game, behind the Community Shield in the preseason (about vulnerabilities).

“But if Liverpool fixes that they have great firepower, a few days ago I thought Arsenal would be Liverpool’s biggest challenger.

“But the way they played (with Man Utd) was a typical weapon from last season – the name of the game is to win the game – if they open up more, create more opportunities from last season and see them really impressed Manchester City, that will be interesting in the coming weeks.

Apart from the title, there is also a gap in the Champions League qualifiers. Carragher is predicting Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea will finish in the top four, while Neville predicts the Red Devils will join the Cross City rivals and Liverpool.

Carragher is oddly plump for Man United as Neville’s choice of Nottingham Forest and as a surprise European candidate. On the other end of the table, Karager agrees that Wolves and Burnley will fall into the championship, despite the thought that Sunderland will be demoted.

In terms of individuals, both critics chose Erling Haaland as the top scorer for the upcoming campaign, with Carragher highlighting Florian Wirtz and Neville, and proposing Viktor Gyoker as the signature of impact.

They also made Bournemouth Estevao and Adrien Truffart shine. Finally, Karager assisted Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner with his manager.

Carragher and Neville’s predictions are perfectly:

Winner: Liverpool (Calagher) | Arsenal (Neville)

Top 4: Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea | Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd

5th: Newcastle | Chelsea

6th: Spurs | Newcastle

Surprise Europe candidate: Man Utd | Mori

Relegation: Wolves, Sunderland, Burnley | Leeds, Burnley, Wolves

Danger Zone: West Ham | Brentford

Top Scoreer: Haaland | Haaland

Impact Signature: Wirtz (Liverpool) | gyoker (Arsenal)

Watch players: Estevao (Chelsea) | Truffert (Bornemouth)

Monitoring Manager: Glasner (Palace) | Amorim (Man Utd)
