Paul Sholes remained confused after seeing his daughter Alicia wearing an Arsenal shirt when Manchester United hosted the gunners on the first day of the Premier League season
Manchester United icon Paul Scholes asked his daughter that the Red Devils Premier League opener to the Gunners to take off his Arsenal shirt just before the opener. Reuben Amorim’s men welcomed the North London side to Old Trafford on Sunday and launched a new campaign.
United were ultimately defeated, with Riccardo Calfioli’s first half header secured the gunner’s victory. The outcome was not helpful in the Shoals’ mood after the difficult first few minutes.
His 24-year-old daughter, Alicia, walked to the lounge wearing an Arsenal shirt and filmed her father’s reaction. And then, 50, Shoals responded dullly to her outfit choices and immediately said, “Take it off.”
She immediately declined the request. Alicia is one of three children that Shoals shares with his wife, Claire Froggutt. They also share Aiden, 20 with their 25-year-old son Allen.
Alicia is currently embarking on a career in netball. She represents London Pulse in the Netball Super League and also plays on the international stage in England.

Shoals certainly hopes that Alicia will change her loyalty soon. He has already made it clear that he is optimistic about a better season at Old Trafford this season, following their disastrous form last semester.
Advances Sunday’s season opening game, he said: “Last year is tough after it got so bad, and this season can change. Last year, it was Nottingham Forest, so you don’t need to take five to ten years to get back to where you want.
“It looks good, but I think the team still has issues. I know in the middle that I don’t want to go through it again. But top 6. I think top 6 is acceptable.

“As much as you don’t want to say that, I think Manchester United should always aim for the best and the best. I don’t really know. I think there are too many good teams right now.
“I think Liverpool, Chelsea and City are all on top. We didn’t even mention Arsenal (similarly) or Aston Villa in Newcastle. I think there’s a lot of competition right now to get the top six.”
Man United will take action on the weekend when they travel to Fulham on Sunday afternoons. And the Shoals will hope that Alicia will not choose to wear a cottage shirt this time.
