TNT Sports expert Joe Cole considers Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank “signature of the season” after leading back-to-back wins to open the Premier League season.
Brennan Johnson gave the visitors the lead in the 35th minute, before a disastrous distribution from city goalkeeper James Trafford.
“Great, I said it early in the season. I think Thomas Frank is the signature of the season,” the former Chelsea and Liverpool star said.
“I think I’m going to join this club and he’s going to calm things down. He’s trying to bring everyone together. It was an outstanding performance from Tottenham.

“There could have been five or six guys in the match. It was great. Thomas Frank really shows his worth. I think it’s a great coup.
However, there were no signs of that on Saturday afternoon as visitors controlled the end of the game.
Cole’s fellow TNT Sports expert Karen Carney believes Frank’s side has produced perfect performances on the road.
“What do you know, it was perfect,” she added. “Everyone played the perfect role today and the game plan was fantastic.
“(Frank) chose his moment, when will he press, when will he not?

Pep Guardiola’s city was beaten well, and Kearney couldn’t understand the changes last week as he opened the season with an impressive victory at the Wolverhampton Wanderers.
“I can’t believe what happened,” Carney said. “From last week until this week, the city’s performances were lunchtime and lunchtime.
“I don’t know what happened there, but the credit to the Spurs is absolutely fantastic. Perfect performance.”
Frank praises Tottenham’s mentality
The Spurs finished 17th in the previous Premier League, but showed their character as they secured their place in the UEFA Champions League this season with a 1-0 victory in the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United.
Frank, who replaced Tottenham’s Europa League champion manager Angipost Koglu, claims he took over the team with a big mentality.
Currently, Danish coaches want to build on the morale-boosting end of their 2024/2025 campaign.
“I think this is one of the hardest places to go in the Premier League,” he said.
“I think they were all along, before our goals and their control over us, they were on top of the game.
“We were solid and had the best way of thinking.
“After the initial goal, we were more or less on the better side.
“I have found a strong mentality in players.
“A group of players who have had a tough season and have finished in the best.
“There was a huge mentality in many ways and then we had to build on it.
“In our goal kick, we tried to play, and it was very successful at times, but the big thing is how we press from the goal kick – we become a guy, and that’s a big thing for me.”
