Name of Graham Potter, responsible for West Ham bosses responding to Chelsea’s embarrassment | Football | Sports

Graham Potter says “everyone” is to blame West Ham for the miserable start to the Premier League season. Despite leading early Lucas Paketa’s surprising early goals, Hammer was humiliated 5-1 by Chelsea at London Stadium.

Fans headed for the exit in as early as 35 minutes, when the hosts were down just 3-1. The result follows a 3-0 defeat at Sunderland last week, with Potter under pressure only two games a season. He then tried to understand the light-like form on his side.

When asked who should blame the situation, he told Sky Sports “everyone.” He also admitted that he “sees himself” and lamented the poor defensive display of his team.

“Of course, I was incredibly disappointed with the outcome,” he added. “We started off well, scored a great goal, then recognized a cheap goal, and perhaps set the tone for the evening. We played topside, but the way we recognized the goals became impossible for us.

Fans have criticized the West Ham Committee this summer for their lack of transfer activity, but the 50-year-old Potter argued that his side needs more than just a new signature, adding, “We’re always looking, but more fundamentally, it has to make it difficult for the team to score against us.”

West Ham will play wolves in the League Cup on Tuesday and face Nottingham Forest ahead of the international breakup next Sunday. When asked if there was a team meeting or training ground work to sort out the issues, he replied, “both.”

West Hamskipper Jarrod Bowen recognized the team needed to significantly improve the display. He also vowed to motivate players to turn things around.

“I don’t think we’re doing well enough, because we’ve recognized eight of them,” he said. “As a captain myself, I have been smoked in the first few weeks, and I share that responsibility.
