Liverpool met with Crystal Palace earlier this month about a potential deal with Mark Guech, and Sean Dish now shares a new theory about the future of the English star

Sean Dish suggests that Crystal Palace may have agreed to get Mark Guech to leave Selhurst Park this summer despite interest in moving to England’s star from Liverpool.

The 25-year-old Guehi is currently within the last 12 months of his contract and was expected to move this summer after attracting interest from Newcastle last season. Liverpool has emerged as a serious candidate for Guehi’s signature, but the deal to bring the former Chelsea man to Anfield has yet to come to fruition.

A meeting took place between Liverpool and the Palace earlier this month, with the Premier League champions preparing to pay Guehi £35 million. However, the Palace is demanding a £45 million captain, despite risking losing him on a free transfer next summer.

It remains to be seen whether the Liverpool and the Eagles will be able to compromise on the financial package before the September 1 transfer deadline and win an agreement, but Dish shares a new theory about Guehi Saga, speculating that the palace and players may have previously made a “gentleman’s agreement.”

Dyche said of the No Tippy Tappy football podcast: “When you sign a lot, you agree on a contract, but you sort out the gentleman’s agreement.

“Now you never know if it was said there or not. With Guehe, I imagine this happened. Perhaps a year ago, I said, “Look, we get it, and you’ll stick with us.” And last summer he stuck to it. He stuck to it.

“And if he’s a good expert that he thinks is great to me, he doesn’t want to go out there and start saying it all, but at some point he might have to go.

“I did it, and most managers did it. You told the agent, “We both know if they do it, we get them.” Especially when I was in Burnley, they weren’t the football giants, so if we were doing them well they couldn’t just stay there. ”
