Alexander Isaac broke his silence after Newcastle issued a response after getting caught up in a transfer story that included Liverpool, but one contractual clause could be even more complicated.
Newcastle’s Alexander Isaac broke his silence as his Liverpool transfer story continued. The provisions of the 25-year-old contract regarding former club Real Sociedad allowed yet another spanner to be introduced into the work.
The Swedish striker revealed last month that he wanted to explore his options from St. James Park. The Reds submitted a £110 million bid, which is far below Newcastle’s rating. Since then, a deadlock has come across, and Isak has refused to play for the club, and the Magpie claims that he has not been sold and will remain on Tyneside unless a proper offer is made.
On Tuesday, Isaac spoke for the first time since the drama unfolded, explaining his absence from the Professional Football Players Association Awards Gala. Newcastle issued a reply to inform as there is still a possibility of an agreement with Liverpool in the air, but the sell-on clause inserted into the 25-year-old contract could further complicate the matter.

Isaac’s statement was awful. In light of this increasingly harmful disagreement, the star striker, training away from Newcastle’s first team, claimed that his promise had been broken.
“I kept quiet for a long time while others were talking,” Isaac wrote. “That silence allowed people to push their own version of the event, despite knowing that it wasn’t actually said and agreed to it in a closed room.
“The reality is that promises have been made and the club has known my position for a long time. Now it’s misleading to act like these issues are emerging.
“When a promise is broken and trust is lost, the relationship cannot last. That’s what it is for me for now. And why change is in the best interests of everyone, not just myself.”
However, ISAK transactions are complicated. Reds’ £110 million package is quickly responsibly, and Isak is believed to be valued at a whopping £150 million. Nevertheless, it appears to be subject to the UK record transfer fees required to ensure his services.
Adding further complications is a sell-on clause inserted into Isaac’s deal when he moved from Real Sociedad to Newcastle in 2022. The Swedes arrived in the UK at a rate of £63 million, with a 10% capital clause attached to his transaction. Therefore, the Spanish side will receive a percentage of profits earned from ISAK’s future sales. For example, if he sells for £150 million, this would show Spain the total of £8.7 million.
Such provisions could result in Newcastle asking ISAK for a higher price, and Liverpool will have to pay an additional fee to ensure that the Magpie receives its final total. As their response to Isak’s statement suggests, Newcastle itself has not seen a transaction with this window being completed.

“As explained to Alex and his representatives, we must always consider the greatest interests of Newcastle United, our team and our supporters in every decision. It is clear that the terms of sale have not occurred this summer.
“We don’t foresee these conditions being met. This is a proud football club with a proud tradition and strives to maintain a family atmosphere. Alex is part of the family and is welcomed when he is ready to rejoin his teammates.”
