Brandon Williams has not played a match since December 2023 after a loan spell with Ipswich.
Former Manchester United star Brandon Williams claimed he “learned from mistakes” after serving the prison sentence suspended for a 99-mile car accident as he is about to rebuild his once-promising career at Hull City.
Williams was caught in a crash in August 2023, charged with dangerous driving and driving without insurance, and pleaded guilty to both charges.
He was disqualified from driving last year and served a 14-month prison sentence earlier this summer.
Now 24 years old Williams hasn’t played Lone Spell with Ipswichtown since December 2023 and was released last year by Boyhood Club United.
But now, Hal gives Williams the opportunity to bounce back by giving him a one-year contract, and he is eager to fix it – admitting that he is “not in a good place.”

“It was the moment I was in, I wasn’t in a good place,” he told BBC Radio Humberside. “It’s a great regret and I learned from my mistakes. I’m still a young boy and I’m growing up now. My focus is back to football.
“I took action to get away from the game and it feels like I’m managing it well. I was working silently. Everyone was wondering what I was doing, but I was working the whole time.
Williams said he had a “honest” meeting with Hal boss Sergezi Jakirovich about what it takes to get him back to fitness for a long time from the game, as he began his struggle while taking a break from football.
“I had some very honest meetings with my manager,” he added. “We know it’s going to be a process that fully backs up speed. We have that timeout. We appreciate the integrity of our managers.
“It was extremely difficult (taking a break from football) – mentally and physically. It’s been a long way, but perhaps I needed it. Now, I’m another person here.
“I’ve grown a lot and am ready to focus on football. I missed it. I’m hungry, I’m burning. I know what quality I can bring to my team. I’m sure I’ll become an asset to the team as soon as I get back to it.
“Now I have to show it to my fans and my teammates and prove that I’m here to work hard and help my team achieve results.”
Williams joined United as a seven-year-old, playing 51 times for the Red Devils, initially being loaned to Norwich. However, he didn’t achieve success with Ipswich at the 2022 Championship before legal trouble began.
