Eberechi Eze has chosen Arsenal and is set to finalise his move from Crystal Palace, but the Gunners transfer policy is under scrutiny thanks to the deal
Former Chelsea star Frank Lebouf has questioned Arsenal’s wisdom in his move to Ebeki Eze. Crystal Palace star Eze will join Crystal Palace gunners in transactions worth up to £68 million, but Lebov is worried about the impact his arrival will have on the team’s balance.
Arsenal explored Eze’s move earlier that month, but it appeared to move away from the deal and clear the path of rival Tottenham. However, Kai Herberts’ injuries forced them to act, and Eze is currently set up for medical care and was able to perform at the final palace in Thursday’s conference league.
This move comes despite Arsenal agreeing to fresh terms with Leandro Trossard at the beginning of the week. The gunners have many options to support the launch of striker Victor Gyoker, and Lebov believes they should target other areas.
“When there’s someone like Eze, do you already ask for that for £68 million when (Gabriel) Martinelli (Leandro) Trossard (Noni) Maduke can play on the left?” the Frenchman asked when he appeared on ESPN FC. “I don’t know why you really need him.
“A lot of money just to upset your biggest enemy, but do you really need Eze to win? I’m not saying he’s bigger, stronger, stronger, or stronger than the others, but I don’t think Arsenal needs such a player to win the title because he already has a player for that.”

Eze spent time at Arsenal’s academy as a young man before being released, but now has the opportunity to make up for the lost time. However, Lebov questioned whether the move was a good fit for the team’s balance, questioning whether Herberts’ injuries were enough reasons to beat the bank.
“I don’t know if Eze will be the X-factor for Arsenal to win the Premier League,” he said. “He could have done it, but he could have caused trouble.”
Eze is not the only palace player who may play the club’s final match against Fredrikstad in the conference league. Eagles captain Mark Guech has been targeted by Liverpool and is now possible when the centre-back enters the final year of his contract, but manager Oliver Glasner is set to use both men on Thursday.
“I was surprised he (Eze) and Mark opposed Chelsea. You might be surprised to start tomorrow, but they’re committed to the team,” Glasner told reporters Wednesday. “They play an important role as long as they are here and are committed to their team. If they leave, they want to leave as the person who gave Crystal Palace 100%.”
