Barcelona hopes the exit will help resolve some of the restrictions from LA La Liga for spending, and the former Premier League star is set to leave Camp Nue
Barcelona and the Oriole Romu will be joining early in the 10 months to allow the La Liga Champions to register players with their team. The midfielder agreed to end his contract in his second spell with the club as the Catalan giants are trying to remove many stars from the book.
The 33-year-old Romie returned to the club in 2023. More than a decade after he first left the side where he made the advanced bow. The Spaniard made 37 appearances in his first season with the club before joining Girona on loan last year.
And it was time for the parties to go their separate ways again. Initially, an agreement was made to see the veterans’ exit, but it was put on hold until Romy was able to find a new club. Now his departure is imminent.
The former Southampton Ace, who was on Chelsea’s Champions League championship team in 2012, did not train alongside Barcelona teammates on Wednesday, Marca-by-Malca. And there are more departures for the future.
Inakipena and Mark Casado are among the candidates who will leave in the coming days. The former was able to renew the contract before retrieving the n loan.

Romu’s firing ensures that Barca can register another player with the team. By releasing the wage bill and being able to follow La Liga’s financial rules, Hansi Flick can push for another player.
Wojciech Szczesny was expected to join the team. However, reports in Spain suggest that the coaching setup now advocates that Gerald Martin will be registered for his versatility.
Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford only resolved the situation last weekend as Manchester United lenders made their debut against RCD Mallorca from the bench. Barcelona is under pressure to register after spending too much on buying players and payroll.
Last season, Daniormo missed the first half of the campaign as he was unable to register in time under similar circumstances. Last week, Flick expressed his frustration.
“For me, the situation, you can imagine that I’m not happy about it. But I know the situation and believe in the club,” he said.
“We’ll focus on what we can change and what we have in our hands. Other things we believe in the club.”
