Downbeat Nuno Espirito Santo is worried about Nottingham Forest’s lack of transfer business despite the club being shut down by two of England’s most promising youth.
James McAtee is in line to complete the £30 million move from Manchester City, but negotiations are underway for Ipswich star Omali Hutchinson on a club record deal of around £38 million.
Forest also added Dan Ndoy to replace Anthony Elanga for £34 million, and tied star midfielder Morgan Gibbs White to a new deal.
But after a worrying preseason in which the team scored only once with their seven best friends, Nuno raised an alarm in front of the Curtain Razor at his Brentford home on Sunday afternoon, running his first campaign in Europe for 30 years.

“I’m worried,” he said. “We lack options and have solutions that the game may need is a major concern. The issues are “IFs” in the game, issues that arise, options and solutions that require.
“Things are potentially medical, let’s take a look. They need players, but certainly they won’t be available on Sundays. We know the needs, the club knows.”
Striker Arnaud Kalimuendo could also arrive from Rennes, but Nuno believes that all areas except the centre-back will need to be strengthened in the next two weeks.
“The goalkeeper situation requires a different option. With a fullback on the defensive line, I think the middle half is fine. Dominguez is injured. Danilo is here, so the midfielder needs wings.
The Portuguese boss hopes to change the style of European-qualified teams thanks to their reliance on counterattacks last season. It reinforced his argument that he gets more body through the door despite a late season slide where the tired shallow team won only two of the two of the last eight games.
He added: “Dealing with doubt is the worst thing you can get in football. We have questions. Who will come here, when will they come? All of this creates questions. Not just me, but at the club.”
“I’ve already told the players exactly what I said publicly. Let’s get strong. Let’s put in special efforts and help our team. Those here are focused and ready to compete. The problem is, no matter what happens, that’s the doubt.”
