Reuben Amorim decides to hand over the opportunity to JJ Gabriel, despite the Manchester United winger being only 14 years old.
Manchester United encouraged Wonderkid JJ Gabriel to train with the first team after Reuben Amorim was impressed with his performance. Gabriel is only 14 years old, but after catching his eye, he is being quickly pursued at United Academy.
The Winger promised a unified future at the beginning of the summer, with the club’s technical director Jason Wilcox playing a role in these debates. It’s rare for the academy player to be very young and emphasize the excitement surrounding him.
Amorim was informed of his progress at the beginning of the summer and was shown a video clip of Gabriel on United’s pre-season US tour. He reportedly had a keen interest in his development and now he has met Gabriel.
According to BBC Sports, Amorim met Gabriel in Carrington, and the youngster watched the season’s opening Premier League match against Arsenal from Old Trafford’s Director’s Box on Sunday. He is said to be given the opportunity to train with his first team this season.

Amorim is keen to appreciate the young people coming through United Academy, and many people are creating numbers in their training. But Gabriel is simply an exception due to his age.
He made his under-18 debut with a Saturday 1-0 win at Everton, but he is too young to feature in the FA Youth Cup campaign.
Gabriel is on the radar for United fans after scoring twice under the age of 18 in April with a Leeds hammer 13-1. In that match he became the youngest player to appear in United’s U18S, with team manager Darren Fletcher taking charge of his development.
“It’s important that we get them to develop,” Fletcher recently told the club media when he spoke about the development of players such as Gabriel and Kai Rooney, the 15-year-old sons of club legend Wayne Rooney.
“They have a lot to do, but they are sponges. They want to learn. They are young boys who just enjoy football. They are trying to take the information and give them a platform to express themselves.
“And we have to recognize their age too. We don’t want them to grow too quickly. Let them develop. It’s difficult when they’re on TV, but that’s part of the gaming and the modern world.
“We don’t want to take anyone home. If you’re playing, you’re going to get rewarded for it. They’re playing because they deserve it and they’ve shown they can compete and compete at this level.
