Daily Mail reported that United returned to the market on August 13th due to a clause in a transaction in which Ratcliffe took over 25% of the club last year. It is known as “drug ong light” and its purpose is to prevent minority shareholders from blocking transactions that many shareholders want to experience.
It was agreed in the negotiations that such clauses would appear 18 months after Ratcliffe’s Ineo invested in the Premier League side. In this particular scenario involving United, this means that Ratcliffe cannot prevent Glazer from selling and cashing in United.
The outlet argues that Jasim is aware of the clause and keeps an eye on the situation, but those close to the Qatar camp believe he has a “zero interest” based on it. Instead, it is suggested that Qatar’s big names have turned their attention to new projects, including an attempt to host the 2036 Olympics.
There’s Belief, away from the idea of Jasim and his group buying the Premier League side entirely, insiders say emails.
It is also suggested that part of the reason why there was no movement in the Jasim Front was the strong collaboration between Ineo and Glazer. The Glazers believe that Ineos has done the dirty work necessary to build a foundation that will allow United to return to the top of British football with excitement over the 2025/26 campaign under Ruben Amorim.
United experienced a first-day defeat to Arsenal, but there are claims from within the inner circle, with signs being positive and optimism being high. There are plans to go off the pitch and renovate the Old Trafford area, and plans to build a new 100,000-seater stadium earlier this year.
