Premier League supercomputers have turned their eyes to the upcoming season, aiming to make a big improvement over something like Manchester United, with Liverpool still holding the crown
Liverpool has been tipped to hold the Premier League title by Opta’s supercomputer, bringing the algorithm to a 28.5% chance of a consecutive match for the Reds for the first time.
Arne Slot’s team won a relatively unchallenged title and a Merseyside title in the previous term. Arsenal is supported by their closest challenger.
Unfortunately, they are being supported to finish second in their fourth season with Trot. The chances of winning the title are ranked 24.3%. To match last season’s table, Manchester City was tilted to third place.
Pep Guardiola’s side is investing in a bid to return to the top of British football, but the Catalans will be the first in the UK to go without title for two years if Opta is believed. They have a chance of 18.8% success.
Manchester United hopes to make a comeback after a new signature of over £200 million, including Benjamin Sesco, after a preseason under Reuben Amorim. However, the Opta algorithm expects it to be another mid-table season with a predicted finish for the 12th place Red Devils.

At the other end of the table, things about Premier League trends could continue. Opta’s statistics believe Sunderland, Leeds and Burnley will all return straight to the black cats supporting the table. This is the third consecutive year in which all promoted teams have fallen backwards.
The wolves are the sides that are most struggling to do, but they occupies the 17th spot that so many teams crave. In fact, their chances of demobilization are only 7.3%. This is minimal compared to Burnley (16.6), Leeds (17.8), and Sunderland (34.1).
Chelsea are the team tipped to close out the top four. But the hope of the Blues becoming a champion has been largely rejected given only 8.4% finishing the top, representing a massive drop from the top three.
Their London rival Tottenham has been focusing on a major rebuild under Thomas Frank, but has made little progress in the difficult year last season. They stay behind the Red Devils, with Opta passing the 14th finishing position. This is under Frank’s former Cider Brentford.
Despite the wholesale change and the loss of one of the best players, the bees are tilted to finish 10th.
Nottingham Forest was a Premier League surprise package, but Opta doesn’t support them to replicate those heights. European football is expected to have a bottom half finish and could put more strain on resources.
Crystal Palace could be supported by the supercomputer, which sits in seventh place, winning the season. That would mean once again European football as Oliver Glasner continues to move the club forward, despite the fact that he may rely on Oliver Glasner to keep his best player in mind.
Aston Villa and Newcastle continue to be part of the European photographs, but orders are subject to change. Unai Emery’s side NAB is 5th. This could mean a return to the Champions League. Meanwhile, the Magpie falls sixth, but this is a blow.
