Newcastle United star Jollington has “loved” a supporter’s social media post that shares his views on Alexander Isaac Saga.
The magpie and the 25-year-old are trapped in a standoff about his future, with Swedish International refusing to join the club again following interest from Liverpool. However, Newcastle remains determined that he cannot be used for transfers.
On Tuesday evening, Isaac took him to social media to express his disappointment at what he called a “broken promise” during the spell at St. James Park. Hours later, the club issued a statement reiterating its determination to keep the player in place.
“I am disappointed that I was warned by Alexander Isaac in a social media post tonight,” the statement read. “It is clear in response to Alex being on a contract and that there has been no commitment made by club officials who will be able to leave Newcastle United this summer.
“We want to keep the best players, but we understand that players have their own wishes and listen to them. As I explained to Alex and his representatives, we must always consider the greatest interests in every decision of Newcastle United, our team and our supporters.
“We don’t foresee these terms. This is a proud football club with a proud tradition and strives to maintain a family atmosphere. Alex is a part of our family and is welcome when he is ready to rejoin his teammates.”
In the midst of rumors, Newcastle fan group Wor Flag responded to Isak’s comment on Instagram. The caption on their posts was, “Idolized and worshipped. There is no promise broken by the fans who make this club. We are better than the destructive path you choose. Newcastle United will never be defeated.”
Newcastle midfielder Jorington was among those who showed support for the post as fans expressed dissatisfaction with the striker, while others praised the club for their positive treatment of the situation so far.
At the time of writing, he was one of over 6,800 people.
