Napoli reportedly threw his hat into the ring for Manchester United star Rasmus Hozilund. The future of Danish International at Old Trafford is still uncertain as the summer transfer window begins.
Rumors have escalated for Hodzilund, who could potentially leave United since Benjamin Sesco’s £74 million transfer from RB Leipzig earlier this month. The 22-year-old’s absence from the team in the Premier League lost to Arsenal on Sunday.
United has reportedly accepted an offer of around £30 million for Hozilund, and AC Milan’s interest is well documented. However, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Napoli is currently in the running and wants to invite strikers to Italy.
Romano’s report on X, previously known as Twitter, shows that there is discussion among representatives of Napoli, United and Hojlund about possible transfers and the loan move is being discussed. However, his preference for a permanent move with Naples if he switches is understood as Hosilund prefers a permanent move with Naples.
Despite the swirling rumors, Hozilund previously confirmed his commitment to United during his pre-season tour in the US, expressing his determination to maintain his place and compete, Manchester Evening News reports.
“My plan is very clear and I think it’s about me staying and fighting for my place no matter what happens,” Hodzilund said in an Atlantic interview earlier this summer.
“Competition is fine with me. It makes me sharp. I’m ready. I feel sharp, so I welcome everything that comes.”
United will have to complete the transfer business until September 1st, and it remains to be seen whether Hojlund will leave the club before the deadline. United will face Fulham in the Premier League this weekend, but it is still unclear whether Hodjlund will be involved in fixture’s matchday team.
The new signature Sesko was named to the bench for a loss to Arsenal, but was introduced later. Reuben Amorim was able to aim to pass the start to Sesco in a crash at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.
