It appears Alejandro Garnacho is aiming to leave Manchester United this summer. Chelsea is in Paul’s position, while Arsenal is one of the other clubs.

Arsenal considered the moves of Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho. The winger has been ruled out from United’s preseason tour, with Chelsea closing with a cut price deal, while London’s rivals became other targets after investigating the shock deal.

The Gunners will turn their attention to Noni Maduce, who joined from Chelsea on a £48 million deal. And they weren’t the only ones moving forward from Garnacho.

According to Manchester Evening News, Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid also performed due diligence with the aim of moving potentially for Argentina. Garnacho spent time at the Academy of Atleti as a young man before moving to Old Trafford, and Diego Simeone’s side considered bringing him back to the city where he was born.

These teams also eventually saw other places. The Spurs paid £55 million to sign Mohamed Kudus from West Ham, while Atleti added both Alex Baena and Thiago Armada.

It is understood that Chelsea has agreed to personal terms with Garnacho and negotiations on fees are underway. They will have to close the deal until September 1st, and United have already lowered the asking price since the Blues’ January interest.

Garnacho was featured in all but two of United’s Premier League matches last season, scoring six goals. However, he didn’t start the final three games, but after being removed from the starting lineup for the Europa League final, the writing seemed to be on the wall.

“Until the final, I played every round that helped my team. I’ll play 20 minutes today, I don’t know,” he said after his defeat against the Spurs. “The finals affect (my decision), but the whole season, the club situation. I’m looking forward to the summer and trying to see what happens afterwards.”

In early August, United boss Reuben Amorim made clear his feelings about Garnacho’s future. “Along with Garnacho, I think you can understand and you can see that he is talented, he is a truly talented boy,” Boss said.

“But sometimes things don’t work and I can’t explain exactly what it is. But I have the feeling that Garnacho wants something different with different leadership and I can understand it – and I think it’s clear.

“So I don’t think that’s the problem. Sometimes you adapt to one guy and you have a connection. Others want you to have a new challenge, so we try to make everything okay for every party. For clubs, coaches, players. That’s the natural thing about football.”
