Ebeki Eze is trapped in a move to Tottenham Hotspur, but Crystal Palace still doesn’t seem to be ready to ease grips at the England star
Eberechi Eze is set to start for Crystal Palace against Chelsea despite reports of an imminent move to Tottenham Hotspur. The English star is the subject of serious interest from the North London side.
And the weekend report claimed that the Spurs were strengthening their interest – and Eze was set to not take action for the palace. The Eagles will launch their latest Premier League campaign against Chelsea on Sunday.
However, it appears that a U-turn is running over the availability of Eze’s palace this weekend. Many reports suggest that the winger will be named in the starting lineup vs. Chelsea following a similar claim by Palace boss Oliver Grassner.
Advances in Chelsea’s game, he said:
“I’ve been in the soccer business for so long so I know that things can happen anytime and whenever. If you ask me now I’m hoping that both Mark and EBS will start on Sunday.”

Spurs’ Eze pursuit is still underway, but there is no agreement between the two clubs yet, but the palace continues to work on alternatives. Leicester’s Bilal El Cannas has been linked for the past few days, but Club Bruges’ Christos Zolis is also an option.
It was allegedly claimed that the £68.5 million release clause had expired this summer, while Spurs wanted to sign Eze for around £60 million. Spurs boss Thomas Frank was asked about his first day victory on the side and potential moves after Burnley, but remained tight.
He said: “We are definitely in the market. Daniel, Johann and Vinay said that before.

When asked specifically about eze, Dane replied, “There’s a great principle of wanting to talk about players that are internal to, and all the other speculations that you don’t want to talk about too much about.”
The Palace signed Ez from Fellow Capital Side Queens Park Rangers for around £17 million in the summer of 2020. He continued to appear in all the club’s tournaments and scored 39 goals. Of these, 14 were last season.
