Liverpool reportedly set a deadline to pursue Newcastle United’s Alexander Isaac. The Reds, who have long admired Swedish International, seemed to have been encouraged to pursue them this summer.
This followed a shocking revelation that Isaac said he wanted to explore other options in Newcastle. Since then, he has been dropped by Eddie Howe’s team and has been eligible for a £110m bid from Liverpool.
Despite Newcastle’s firm attitude that he is not for sale in light of Isaac’s apparent declaration that he will never play for them again, Liverpool’s Top Brass is currently not planning a second offer. However, it has been reported that Arne Slot’s team has set deadlines.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Liverpool told Newcastle that if an agreement is not reached by this weekend, they will turn their attention to other targets. Isaac was particularly absent from the Newcastle team due to a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa early on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the mirror suggests that Swedish International has scored a penalty through refusing to play, but Talksport adds that he will refuse to play for the club again, even if the striker is not allowed to leave this summer.
Other news reports that club officials are still working on a contract with Crystal Palace’s Mark Ngwehi. Updated fans on their YouTube channel, Romano said consultations with the palace are ongoing after an agreement was reached with the defender.
“In Liverpool they claim they are still working for Mark Guech,” Romano revealed on YouTube. “The conversation with Crystal Palace is still ongoing, but the agreement with the players is fine from what I’ve heard.
“The club is still waiting for what will happen to the club. But Mark Guech wants to go to Liverpool. If not now, it will be the future.”
